School zones in effect Wednesday | Schools

School zones will be in effect across Baton Rouge and strictly enforced starting tomorrow morning (August 8).

School Crossing Guards will be out early in the morning and motorists are urged to exercise caution around schools and bus stops. The 20 mph school zone will be in effect in marked areas between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and again from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted via signage.

In particular there are two schools in Baton Rouge (Dalton Elementary, and Glen Oaks Middle) that are under state jurisdiction along with all Catholic Schools (St Thomas Moore and St Francis Xavier). Their dismissal times differ from those in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
