Louisiana Life March will be held Saturday | Events
The Louisiana Life March will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Old State Capitol downtown. Participants are marching in support of an end to abortion and a greater respect for life.
The march will be held come rain or shine.
The Galvez Plaza Gathering, beginning at 12:15 in Galvez Plaza (behind the Old State Capitol), will kick the March off and features dynamic local speakers and Christian recording artist Kara Klein!
The March will begin at 1 PM from the Old State Capitol and at 1:50, there will be prayers, speakers, and music on the Capitol Steps featuring Senator David Vitter, Archbishop Gregory Aymond, Jeanie Holmes and Brennan Mcandrew (Silent No More), Gene Mills (LA Family Forum), Dr. David Hankins (LA Baptist Convention) and Ben Clapper (LA Right to Life).
At the end of the March, you have the unique opportunity to visit the Life Ministry Mobilization tent to learn about ways to get more active in the pro-life movement.
Car Parking: In addition to street parking (which is free on Saturdays in Baton Rouge), there are a few lots available for car parking (first come first serve!) :
- First Baptist Church: One of the lots at First Baptist Church is available to car parking. The lot will be first come, first serve. When you arrive at First Baptist Church, you will be directed to the correct lot. Remember, First Baptist Church is very close to the Old State Capitol, the beginning of the march. - Cathedral of St. Joseph lot: There is also a parking lot at the Cathedral of St. Joseph that is open to cars only. It is also first come, first serve. The Cathedral is located near the State Capitol, the end of the march, at 412 North Street Baton Rouge, LA 70802-5496. See below for a location map of the Cathedrall.
