Area Christmas Parades this weekend | Events

There are several area Christmas parades Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9 in Baton Rouge, New Roads, Gonzales, and Plaquemine as well as other areas.

Saturday, Dec. 8

The Cortana Kiwanis Christmas Parade will roll through Baton Rouge on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. Bring the kids to see 80 decorated floats, walking troups, and bands celebrate the Holiday Season.

The city of New Roads and New Roads Main Street will present its annual Downtown Christmas Celebration on Dec. 7 and 8. The parade is on Saturday at 10.

The Denham Springs Christmas Parade, hosted by the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce, will roll Saturday, December 8, at 2 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 9

Gonzales will host its annual Christmas Day Parade on Sunday, Dec.  9 at  2 p.m.  The parade route will begin at East Ascension High School on Worthy Road. For more information call (225) 647-2841.

The Children's Festival and Parade will be held Dec. 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. in Plaquemine at Bayou PlaquemineWaterfront Park.
