Get Donations Ready for St. George's Parades

The St. George Fire Department will be conducting its annual Santa Claus parades during the first two weekends in December. As part of this tradition, volunteers will be collecting food, toys, and monetary donations along the parade route which travels through 200 neighborhoods in the Baton Rouge area.

The parades will cover the subdivisions between Airline Hwy and the Amite River plus Briar Place and Woodridge on December 4 and 5. The subdivisions between Airline Hwy and the Mississippi River will be visited on December 11 and 12. The parades will depart the fire stations at 10 o'clock Saturday morning and at noon on Sunday of each weekend.

The department is partnering again with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and Christmas for Challenged Children, a local faith-based group that helps make Christmas merrier for children facing chronic or lifethreatening illnesses.
