National Greyhound Adoption Month

National Greyhound Adoption Month

April is National Greyhound Adoption Month. It's a Grey Area Greyhound Adoption wants to spread the word about how wonderful greyhounds are as family pets.

Greyhounds are gentle, affectionate, quiet dogs. They are a large breed, with a short tight coat, that requires very little grooming. Most greyhounds get along great with cats, other dogs, and small children. They are big couch potatoes who spend more time sleeping than anything. They do not require a lot of room or a lot of exercise, but they do need to be in a fenced yard or on a leash when outside.

Most of the dogs in the program are between two and five years old. They are usually retired racers who are seeking adoptive homes.

For more information about how you can bring one of these wonderful dogs into your family or about upcoming events, please visit  www.itsagreyarea.com or www.facebook.com/itsagreyarea
