Rep. Ted James sponsoring presidential debate watch party downtown | Community Spirit

State Rep. Ted James and D.J. Marquis are sponsoring a presidential debate watch party Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Galvez Plaza in downtown Baton Rouge.

"This is a bipartisan event," James tells 9News Neighborhoods. "We want to invite folks to come out  to have dialogue about the issues and how it impacts them."

The debate is the first of three between President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. The watch party will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

It will include a live band and light refreshments.  Voter registration will also be available for those who need it.

"We're going to do this for each debate," James says.

If it rains, the watch party will be held at Hotel Indigo, 200 Convention Street downtown.
