The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) has received a gold award from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) for Catalyst, BRAC’s quarterly magazine, in the magazines and newsletters category. The magazine provides updates on the six core strategies of The Creative Capital Agenda, BRAC’s five-year strategic plan, while also supplying glances into future goals and general regional economic information. The publication is distributed to BRAC’s investors and regional partners as well being available at www.brac.org/catalyst. Catalyst is produced in partnership with Object 9, a Baton Rouge area-based marketing and graphic design firm.
“Receiving a gold award from ACCE for Catalyst rewards the hard work that our team puts into communicating BRAC’s progress on the The Creative Capital Agenda to our investors,” commented Adam Knapp, President and CEO of BRAC. “Congratulations to Object 9 and our marketing team for developing an award-winning piece which keeps our investors engaged and informed.”
Additionally, BRAC’s 2010 annual report, the “I Believe” advertising campaign, and BRAC’s website relaunch each received a bronze award from ACCE. The annual report, entitled “The Making of a Regional Rock Star”, was based on a quote from Southern Business and Development magazine. This allowed for a creative and interesting piece, which encouraged investors to read the entire publication. The “I Believe” awareness campaign was created to increase awareness for BRAC in the community and keep the organization’s previous successes top of mind for investors and community members. The campaign used testimonials from well-respected regional leaders. The upgraded BRAC website was launched to better organize the data BRAC provides to investors and the public, as well as to reflect the updated BRAC brand standards.
The awards are part of the 28th Annual Awards for Communication Excellence (ACE) and will be presented during the 2012 ACCE Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. The ACCE is a national association of more than seven thousand individuals from more than 1,200 chambers. This year's ACE competition drew sixty-four entries from
organizations throughout the United States. Entries were judged by two independent judges with significant communications experience and background knowledge of chamber operations.
