DeBose Foundation kickoffs season with exhibition/reception | Arts & Culture

The DeBose Foundation will begin its 38th Fine Arts season by presenting the East Baton Rouge Schools Visual Arts exhibition featuring two and three-dimensional artworks. The artworks will be presented during a reception and awards ceremony on Friday, Jan. 27 at 5 p.m. at the Shaw Center for the Arts.
The exhibition will be on display at the Jones Walker Gallery through February 27.
Participating schools include: High Schools: Istrouma; Scotlandville Magnet; Belaire; Woodlawn; Baton Rouge Magnet and McKinley Senior; Middle Schools: Westdale; Woodlawn; McKinley; Sherwood; and Broadmoor. Elementary Schools: Forest Heights; Claiborne; Brownfields; Glen Oaks Park; Baton Rouge Center for Visual & Performing Arts; Winbourne; Buchanan; Dufroq; Villa Del Ray and Parkview. Levels of participation are: I. Beginner, II. Intermediate, III. Advanced, and IV. Talented Identified.
The annual DeBose Fine Arts Festival-National Piano Competition is a program showcasing achievements in literary, visual and performing arts. The goal is to inspire and encourage artistic in schools and studios.
